Listening to one of my favourite Beatles’ records, Revolver, this morning made me realize that whenever “Tomorrow Never Knows” comes on, I think of that great scene in last season’s Mad Men. It was used so perfectly, it was worth the $250,000 it cost to license it for the show. Then I found this fantastic round up of season five.
Warning: serious spoiler alert!
Mad Men season 5 is released on DVD two weeks from today. I can’t wait to rewatch it!

Are you as excited as I am for Sunday night? It’s the return of Mad Men and it’s about time! It seems like everyone’s looking forward to this premiere. AMC has even been running commercials with a sense of a humour leading up to it like this Walking Dead spoof.
Do you have any predictions for this season?

My Sunday nights still have a gaping hole where Mad Men once was, but at least now Californication is back in its third season to fill some of the void.
Although Californication is only half an hour long and not quite as intelligent, it still satisfies some of my need for outlandish situations and gasp-inducing plot twists. The show also provides an alternate handsome older man to look at while simultaneously being grateful he isn’t my husband.
How much alike are Don and Hank? Let’s take a closer look.
Don + Hank – The Similarities:
- Both serious womanizers
- Both give occasional feeble attempts to clean up their act
- Both suddenly found themselves single (up until the last episode of last season for Don anyway)
- Both love the hooch
Don + Hank – The Differences:
- Don is a much better dresser
- Hank is brutally honest while Don is a pathological liar
- Don is much more career-oriented
Other than those major bullet points, Hank could very well be a modern day version of Don. That being said, who would you rather date?

I love Max Wanger’s latest set of wedding photos for couple Sean and Ashley. Not only are they in the typically gorgeous style Max always brings to photos, but Ashley’s poufy dress is adorable and fun and her turquoise shoes are so cute!
The cover of Rolling Stone features mine and everyone else’s current favourite show, Mad Men. The cover shot is stunning, but so are the behind-the-scenes black & white photos where you can see Betty Draper on a cellphone and some of the ad men playing with Mac laptops.

I’ve been a bit absent lately, and I can’t blame it all on wedding preparations because a good deal of my spare time has been taken up by watching Mad Men all the way from the beginning with Nick. We wanted to get caught up so that when season 4 starts next weekend, we’ll be completely up to speed and in the know! Also, I was joking to Nick the other day that if we’re spending our last unmarried weekend watching Mad Men, we better be taking something from it, and by that I mean learning what NOT to do once we’re married!
In all seriousness though, what an amazing show. I can’t wait to wear my red lipstick and get all done up on Thursday for the wedding and then watch the new episode on our honeymoon.
