Brooklyn Winery

November 17, 2010 § 2 Comments

Last night, my good friend Kate and I attended a Yelp elite event at the new & gorgeous Brooklyn Winery in Williamsburg. The Brooklyn Winery serves as a wine bar as well as a unique and educational place to make your own wine.

The entire place is made out of reclaimed materials. The paneling around the outside of the bar is all reclaimed from old church pews, and the trim work is done with the same reclaimed wood used on the wall. The bar top is a beautiful zinc slab and the ceiling is an old tin ceiling, repainted.

In addition to offering unlimited free red and white wines, beer, cider, and snacks, the winery held tours every 10 minutes. Of course we went on one and learned that you can get 300 bottles from one barrel of wine!
