Grand Central Station & Oyster Bar
November 21, 2011 § 4 Comments
This weekend, Nick and I treated ourselves to lunch at the famous Grand Central Oyster Bar. Nick loves oysters and I enjoy the process of dressing and eating them, but mostly we wanted to check out the place itself. Also, I saw the restaurant in a recent Bored To Death episode and was sold.
Can you believe Nick has lived in New York for six years and has never seen the inside of Grand Central Station?
Well, we fixed that.
Sometimes you have to act like a tourist in your own city, like when you’re visiting a landmark and need to ask a stranger to take your cheesy couple photo.
The inside of Grand Central is gorgeous. Whenever I have to go to Penn Station, I always wonder: why can’t the trains I need to take depart from Grand Central instead?
So, have you ever tried an oyster? How many did you have to eat before you liked it?

i like the IDEA of oysters but the execution and eating of them actually turns my stomach SO MUCH. i feel like i’m missing out though. want to try, must get drunk.
It took me a little while to be into them – I’m still nowhere near as into them as Nick is, but I like the process of going out for them. They’re also an aphrodisiac, dontcha know? ;)
