Fall is here and the cold weather is on its way. I will soon be spending more nights inside, watching movies with my husband in cozy pajamas with a glass of wine. My anchor-patterned Paul Frank pajama pants have finally fallen apart, so I’m in the market for some new ones. Here are some of my favourites…
Vintage Pajama Set – J Crew
Dot Boyfriend Pajama Pant – Steven Alan
Chambray Sleep Pant – J Crew (my favourite, but they’re sold out!)
What do you wear to bed? Do you sleep in something you think I’d like? Please share!

Well guys, tomorrow is the first day of Fall. Summer seemed to fly by this year. Just as I had my summer wardrobe perfected, the weather turned and now I’m taking stock on all the new clothes of the season.
I find that a good sweater or cardigan is the easiest way to transition into Fall – you don’t have to put away all your summer favourites yet, just add some layers. Here are some sweaters I’m loving so far.

Have you started your Fall shopping yet?

Nick and I arrive in London tomorrow night! We will have two days to explore the city before spending Sunday at the Reading Festival.
I’ve never been to Europe before, let alone a European music festival, so I’m sure it will be an experience! Both of us are bringing our “wellies” and I’m hoping the weather will be warm enough to wear shorts & a tanktop like this pretty lady:
…but I’m also realistic in knowing my festival outfit will probably look more like this (if I’m lucky!):
Suddenly, I’m worried my boots aren’t high enough!
I’d love to hear what your festival must-haves and rules are – have you ever camped out at a festival? Do you swear by a certain outfit? Do you rely on layers? I’m slowly packing my suitcase throughout the day and would love to hear what you have to say!

I wasn’t exactly what you’d call a swimming enthusiast growing up – I don’t think I learned to swim in any capacity until I was about 14 – but now that I live in New York, I appreciate the rare opportunities to swim much more.
I have only ever owned one swimsuit at a time and usually only buy them once every few years. Now that I have regular access to a pool and have actually made it to the beach twice this year already, I think I’m ready for an upgrade!
The trend this year seems to be the Bandeau style suit, which is perfect because I’m quite tired of the weird double triangle tan I get with my halter top bikini. What is a Bandeau, you ask? Well here are a few of my favourites:
What kind of swimsuit are you wearing this year? I am curious!

Good news, indecisive graphic lovers! The brains behind Swiss Miss created a line of temporary tattoos called Tattly that allow you to switch up your skin decor on a regular basis with many fun, design-inspired tattoos.
Now you can get a tattoo designed by Marc Johns, Jessica Hische, Julia Rothman, and others without committing for life.

According to Elle Magazine, it’s the Summer of the Ugly Shoe. By “ugly”, they of course mean comfortable, sensible, and affordable. As someone who never learned to walk in heels and picks simple over fouffy on a regular basis, I can certainly get behind this trend!
This summer, my shoe rotation is shaping up to look a little something like this:
Bensimon – the french tennis shoe
Toms – the surprisingly comfortable, feel-good shoe
And the prettiest of the ugly, the Seychelles sandal flat.
What does your shoe wardrobe look like this summer – pretty or ugly?

I was lucky enough to have a light workload this past Tuesday because it was a beautiful day in Brooklyn. I couldn’t help but take a long walk through Greenpoint and Williamsburg and snap some photos along the way.
What have you been doing in this lovely spring weather?

Friends Gordie and Zyanna got married at Manhattan’s City Hall Marriage Bureau on April 29th! I stand by my claim that it’s a great place to get married and if I was given all the time in the world to plan a wedding, I’d just get married there all over again.
Isn’t Zyanna’s vintage dress gorgeous? Gordie’s hat isn’t too bad either!
Congratulations again, newlyweds!

How cool is Melissa Auf der Maur?
Having been both a part of Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, she’s one of the true lady rockstars left in the world. She’s also managed to develop her own identity while playing bass next to enormous personalities like Courtney Love and Billy Corgan by always pursuing new projects, meeting and collaborating with other musicians like Ric Ocasek and Rufus Wainwright, not to mention her efforts in photography, comic book writing, and fashion.
Despite Melissa’s impressive resume and history, she is also a truly sweet and friendly person. Maybe that has to do with her Canadian heritage ;)
At her March 3 show in New York, I felt like I was at a fashion party. Everyone around me was 6+ feet tall and gorgeous, boasting an effortless fashion sense. They also all seemed to know each other, and at the end of the night, Melissa. Her personality seems to be one that invites everyone inside to talk about anything. The first time I met her, the conversation managed to take a most ideal turn: mid-nineties Canadian rock reminiscing. What could be better? (Besides intimate stories about being on the road with Smashing Pumpkins, but some things are best left to the imagination.)
Melissa Auf der Maur is truly girl-crush worthy and I hope she continues her efforts in all applicable areas. The world needs not only more rockstars like her, but also people.

After using the gift certificate Nick got me to Angel Feet for a reflexology session, I spent this splendidly sunny, warm March afternoon in the West Village. A visit to the Village is always interesting if you’re not completely familiar with it – it’s one of the only areas of New York that is not a grid so the streets start going diagonally and running into each other, the numbered streets aren’t necessarily in order anymore, and so navigating is a bit of a challenge. I took this rare opportunity to get lost and wander in circles past a bunch of cute cafes and shops and even perused some stores for the first time. Did you know that there is a Marc Jacobs bookstore?
I also had some time to take a couple photos with my compact camera:
Oh and if you ever have the chance or the extra dough, I’d highly recommend a reflexology session from Angel Feet. I had an hour massage for just my hands and feet and it was divine! It’s so interesting how talented the practitioners are as well – afterwards she told me what she felt from my pressure points: apparently my tension is held in my spine, shoulders, and hips. These are the places I need to make sure I stretch and take care of, which is very true!
