Black Friday

November 25, 2011 § Leave a comment

Why get up at 4am to fight over sale items, when you can shop online, while your husband is still sleeping, in your pajamas, drinking tea? It is 2011 after all.

Here are some great discount codes I’ve come across for some of my favourite brands:

Seychelles Footwear – get 30% off with the code: BLACK FRIDAY

J Crew – get 25% off with the code: YOURGIFT

BC Footwear – get 30% off with the code: BLACKFRIDAY

ASOS – get 20% off with the code: HAPPYBLACKFRIDAY

Dalaga – Free shipping on online orders of $150+, or if you live in New York, visit their Brooklyn store to get 10% off everything on Saturday!

Have fun (and let me know what you bought)!

Rainy Day Comfort

November 16, 2011 § 2 Comments

On a rainy day like today in Brooklyn, I love to work with the windows open. I alternate between listening to moody music like Radiohead and Hayden and just listening to the rain. I also usually feel like either watching one of my favourite movies (maybe Harry Potter or Lost in Translation) or reading on the couch.

Wouldn’t it be nice to do one or the other wrapped up in this Wrap Hoodie Robe while wearing these Cashmere Slippers?

Both from Journelle.

Pajama time

October 17, 2011 § 3 Comments

Fall is here and the cold weather is on its way. I will soon be spending more nights inside, watching movies with my husband in cozy pajamas with a glass of wine. My anchor-patterned Paul Frank pajama pants have finally fallen apart, so I’m in the market for some new ones. Here are some of my favourites…

Vintage Pajama Set – J Crew

Dot Boyfriend Pajama Pant – Steven Alan

Flannel Roll Up Pajama Pant – Gap

Chambray Sleep Pant – J Crew (my favourite, but they’re sold out!)

What do you wear to bed? Do you sleep in something you think I’d like? Please share!

Fall Sweaters

Well guys, tomorrow is the first day of Fall. Summer seemed to fly by this year. Just as I had my summer wardrobe perfected, the weather turned and now I’m taking stock on all the new clothes of the season.

I find that a good sweater or cardigan is the easiest way to transition into Fall – you don’t have to put away all your summer favourites yet, just add some layers. Here are some sweaters I’m loving so far.

Reese Witherspoon for Lindex

Need Supply Co.

Dalaga

Madewell

Missoni for Target

Have you started your Fall shopping yet?

Festival fashion

August 24, 2011 § 5 Comments

Nick and I arrive in London tomorrow night! We will have two days to explore the city before spending Sunday at the Reading Festival.

I’ve never been to Europe before, let alone a European music festival, so I’m sure it will be an experience! Both of us are bringing our “wellies” and I’m hoping the weather will be warm enough to wear shorts & a tanktop like this pretty lady:

…but I’m also realistic in knowing my festival outfit will probably look more like this (if I’m lucky!):

Suddenly, I’m worried my boots aren’t high enough!

I’d love to hear what your festival must-haves and rules are – have you ever camped out at a festival? Do you swear by a certain outfit? Do you rely on layers? I’m slowly packing my suitcase throughout the day and would love to hear what you have to say!

Bandeau Swimsuits

July 19, 2011 § 2 Comments

I wasn’t exactly what you’d call a swimming enthusiast growing up – I don’t think I learned to swim in any capacity until I was about 14 – but now that I live in New York, I appreciate the rare opportunities to swim much more.

I have only ever owned one swimsuit at a time and usually only buy them once every few years. Now that I have regular access to a pool and have actually made it to the beach twice this year already, I think I’m ready for an upgrade!

The trend this year seems to be the Bandeau style suit, which is perfect because I’m quite tired of the weird double triangle tan I get with my halter top bikini. What is a Bandeau, you ask? Well here are a few of my favourites:

Ruffle Skirt Bandeau Bikini

Tori Praver Swim Betty Bandeau

Tyler Rose Lookin Like A Lady Bandeau

What kind of swimsuit are you wearing this year? I am curious!

Where Am I?
